Lifestyle Newborn Session
What should I have prepared?
What to Expect During a Lifestyle Newborn Session
-
Lifestyle newborn photos are all about capturing the bonding and snuggles with the new baby. I will do a select pose or two with everyone smiling and looking at the camera, but most photos in your gallery will be focused on your interactions with each other and the new baby.

-
I typically shoot in the living room, master bedroom and nursery during a lifestyle newborn photoshoot. Please make sure all clutter is clear in these areas. I totally understand that you have a new baby and cleaning is NOT something you need to worry about as a brand new parent. There is no need to have the house is spotless, just make sure there isn't tons of stuff on the coffee table or the side tables of the bedroom, etc. I am always happy to clear any objects out of the way as I am photographing your family and your sweet new baby.

-
Make sure all blinds and curtains are open in the rooms we will be shooting in. I typically use only natural light during your session, so the more light coming into your home, the better. Turn off all ceiling lights and lamps in the rooms we will be working in. If it is an especially dreary day outside, I will typically pull you near a window for most of the photos so we get as much natural light as possible.

-
Be prepared for me to be at your home for 1.5 - 2 hours. Newborns require lots of breaks for feeding, calming, etc. and a session will typically take longer than a regular family session.

-
Have a special outfit, swaddling blanket or onesie picked out for some of the photos. Headbands also look super cute on baby girls!

-
Most importantly, have fun! This is a special time for your family and I am so happy to capture it so you can look back on these memories for years to come.
